What are the 2021 dates and hours?

Will masks be required by visitors? 

Yes, the City of Birmingham has extended the mask mandate. We appreciate your compliance.

Masks can be removed for eating while in the cafe area / inside designated eating zones.

If you forget a mask, the festival will have some on hand for $1 purchase. NOTE: Look for artist-made masks featuring designs inspired by their art.

How will admission work in 2021?

Admission will operate as usual. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance for faster and contact free entry. Gates will be open starting at Noon Friday and 10am Sat & Sun.

What is your ticket refund policy / donation option? 

Rain or Shine. In case of festival cancellation, full refunds will be given for advance ticket purchases. We hope you’ll also consider making a donation to the non-profit festival! Your support will go a long way in helping sustain this beloved Birmingham festival.

What is the parking plan?

Free, on site parking at the Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. 20 32nd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35222.

Will there be a drop off point for visitors and handicapped patrons?

Yes. Visitor Drop offs & Pick-ups location at Sloss TBA.

What Covid protocols are being planned for visitor and public safety?

Below are the policies and protocols being put in place. Subject to change.

a – VENUE CHANGE to Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark

b – MASKS REQUIRED for entry and while at the festival. Specific policies for masks at Corks & Chefs and Cafe.

c – GATE will institute minimal or no contact. CREDIT CARDS recommended to purchase Tickets.

d – DIRECTIONAL TRAFFIC for exploring artist booths.

e – EXHIBITOR BOOTHS are being placed farther apart for better social distancing


g – LOUNGING / EATING AREAS will be designated zones for small groups of 2 to 4.

h – Hand SANITIZER STATIONS will be strategically located throughout the site and at portalets.

Will the festival have a VIRTUAL Marketplace component this year in addition to the public festival?

Yes, Magic City Art Connection will be featuring a virtual marketplace to kick off April 26, 2021 offering more opportunities to connect with Festival artists. Note: Some artists will be featured in the virtual marketplace only. So, be sure to check out both.

Will visitors be able to leave and return to the event?

Ticket Holders will be able to enter and exit at their leisure with festival armbands.

What should I bring?

Will the festival, artists and exhibitors accept cash?

The Festival discourages the use of cash this year, but can accept.

Artists and Exhibitors are responsible for processing their own sales.

Will there be food, drinks, and other concessions?

Yes, a selection of food trucks and other concessions are being planned for the weekend.

The festival will be providing various coca cola products and water for sale.

Can you bring in outside food & drink?

Not allowed due to vendor concessions on site.

Will Corks & Chefs be happening this year?

Yes! April 24 & 25.

All patrons & participants are required to wear masks inside Corks & Chefs unless at their reserved tables.

  • Masks ON – to move about the venue.
  • Masks OFF – while eating or drinking at socially distanced, reserved patron table(s)

Will there be art workshops for kids?

Imagination Festival will be offering socially distanced art projects for children on Saturday & Sunday only.

Are pets allowed at Sloss?

Yes, but pets are not allowed in Corks & Chefs.
