Mariella Owens

Mableton, Ga

Thirty-five years ago, I began my journey into the land of magic. Transforming an inert lump of lifeless clay into a work of art has also transformed my life and the way I live it. Having an artists eye and soul guides my hands at the wheel, and it is as if by magic that the new creation emerges. Practice makes perfect, and my works have sold at arts festivals in more than 10 states. The John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC has invited me to teach one of their pottery workshops, at the end of July and the beginning of August in 2019. My work has been displayed in several galleries in GA, NC, and Ohio. Being the resident potter at the Mablehouse in Cobb County, GA is another outlet for my to share my art with students of all ages.
