My love for art began at an early age and was nurtured by my junior high school art teacher, Dr. Mary Kerr in Tuscaloosa, AL. I received a bachelors degree in graphic design from Sanford University in 1997. Upon graduation I worked as a graphic designer at Compass Bank’s corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL. In April of 2002 I started my own graphic design firm, Abelha Design. With a desire to make a second career in the fine arts, in January of 2018, I took my first pottery class since high school with acclaimed potter Larry Allen of Leeds, AL. I now have my own studio at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment in Huntsville, Alabama and participates in art festivals throughout the southeast.
