Ana Maria Andricain – Jewel of Havana

Baton Rouge, LA

I came to the art jewelry world after a successful 25 year career performing on Broadway in New York City. Jewelry was my backstage passion turned full time business over 14 years ago backstage at Beauty and the Beast.

I believe the art of jewelry connects us to our life stories and to each other. I create timeless pieces of wearable art to carry on my Mother’s Cuban tradition of celebrating life and connection to our loved ones through the art of jewelry for my clients.

Working primarily in precious metal clays, I am inspired by the natural origins of geometry. My studio is surrounded by indigenous foliage and the sights, sounds and textures of nature’s community spur the growth and progression of my design.

My current work explores layers of textures, patterns and patinas balancing strong structures with delicate natural elements. Each piece is hand fabricated, kiln fired and finished by hand combining both metal clay and traditional metalsmithing techniques. Silver, gold, copper and semi-precious stones are used to create one of a kind timeless pieces with nature inspired organic design. I’m a Louisiana artist capturing nature and life’s precious moments in metal and stone.
